Ingenious Business Plan involving Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow leadership

If you could package Tim Tebow leadership in a bottle and sell it to businessmen, husbands, and athletes you would be a gazillionaire.    Tebow continues to answer the question of “What is a Leader?”  “Tim has a presence about him that I’ve never been around before in terms of a guy in the locker room. I’ve played with some Hall of Fame players before, and it’s nowhere close to the aura that this guy has.”  This quote is from Broncos cornerback Andre Goodman.  When asked why Tim has such an aura, Goodman responded  “I can’t explain; that’s not for me to explain.” Continue Reading…

Manly Sports guide: How to play rugby

Yesterday was the final for the 2011 Rugby World Cup from New Zealand.  The New Zealand All Blacks defeated France 8-7 for the championship.  I actually watched part of the game and thought about how many sports that Americans don’t really understand how to play.  Continue Reading…

WEEK 7: What We Learned

 1. Michigan is still Michigan

I put way too much faith in Denard Robinson’s ability and it bit me with my prediction last week. I thought for sure they would come in with a fire into the Michigan State game but for the second year, the Spartans stopped the Wolverines in their tracks. The Spartan defense looked as good as it has all year. Continue Reading…

WEEK 6: What We Learned

1. Texas WAS in Fact Overrated

Oklahoma put it to Texas in every way possible. No need to relive it. Texas sure doesn’t want to. Everyone probably figured that was a bit too lofty of a ranking for the Longhorns after laying egg after egg last year, but Oklahoma just made sure that thought went public. Continue Reading…

WEEK 5: What We Learned

1. November 5 can’t get here Soon enough

If all goes well the next month, the biggest matchup of the year will take place in Tuscaloosa with two unbeatens. Continue Reading…

College Football week 4 roundup and week 5 preview

Coppock’s Corner

Week 4 Roundup:

1. Oklahoma is beatable. Missouri showed some weaknesses in the Sooner defense and it also took Landry Jones a while to get cranked up. This team is not quite the world-beaters we were lead to believe. It’s a good thing Texas is still down this year or else Oklahoma might not even make it out of the Big 12.

2. LSU and Alabama are on another level. Many resent this statement the last couple seasons but look at the tape. Compare these two defenses to any other in college football and there’s a pretty sizable drop-off. Look at these two rosters closely. You’ll hear plenty of these names the next few Aprils at the NFL Draft. Continue Reading…

Masculine or Madness?- Noodling for Catfish

Noodling for catfish is both masculine and madness at the same time.  First, let’s get a quick definition out of the way for those of you whose sheltered lives have not let you even become familiar with the term “noodling”.  Noodling is catching catfish with your bare hands.  No, I did not stutter.  A human being jumps into the river or lake and reaches under a rock or log and lets a huge catfish bite down on his hand while he pulls it out and holds it up with a smile sometimes consisting of less than a half dozen teeth. Occassional golfer’s guide to avoiding humiliation on the course

Golf continues to be a very popular sport here in America.  It is a great sport because it can be played from childhood all the way to elderly ages.  I like to play myself.  I am, like many others out there, what I would call the “occasional golfer”.  There are the 3-4 times a week golfers, the weekend golfers, the occasional golfers, and the once in a blue moon golfers.  The only tip I have for the once in a blue moon golfer is to not take it too serious because your score will probably scare small children.  Golf is difficult and takes practice to approach respectability.  I want to speak to the occasional golfer.  You guys may play on family gatherings, or for business purposes, or maybe you just only play a few times a year.  There is still hope for you on the course.  I am not trying to help you break par.  My aim is to try to help you, and me for that matter, avoid complete and utter humiliation on the course.  You know what I mean by that.  Examples would be, missing the ball completely on a tee shot; failing to drive the women’s tee; losing over a dozen golf balls in one round; having more than one hole with a double-digit score; hitting 3 shots before the other players get to hit their approach; and worst of all, Continue Reading…
