One tip to make thanksgiving dinner memorable

Recently my wife and I spent a good bit of time watching the Food Network. Now granted, if she wasn’t home, I would be more likely to be watching a ball game, but as one who enjoys eating, I have come to appreciate the Food Network. Something about watching food that you can’t smell or taste but that you know is really good, grabs my attention. Thanksgiving is a time to not only see, but taste and smell good food. If you have been making the same Thanksgiving dinner for your entire adult life, my challenge to you is to try something that you have never done that will wake cut way down on leftovers . Let me suggest deep frying a turkey to make it easier for your family to give thanks for the food.

Here is a video that explains the process from www.thefrugalchef.com

30 day pullup challenge final summary

So the 30 day pullup challenge turned into a 31 day pullup challenge that brought mediocre results.  My starting pullup max total was 9 which was a little higher than expected.  My end total was 16.  I was hoping to double the reps but it just didn’t happen.  The workout routine consisted of many sets of 5 reps and occasionally going for max reps for a test.  The 30 day pullup challenge served a couple of purposes.  Continue Reading…

Mission of Manhood’s 30 day pullup challenge – Day 1

Today is September 15, 2011.  I am starting for the second time in my life a 30 day pullup challenge. Pullups are masculine, except for the diaper product which is totally not masculine.  Here is the challenge.    You have 30 days to improve the percentage of the number of pullups you can do.  Today was day 1 for me and surprisingly, I was able to do 9 pullups.  I plan to “max out” pullups once a week and train the other days.  I will again max out on the 30th day and see how I have improved.  Join in if you like and post your results Continue Reading…

Manhood Munchies: 5 foods for a gameday crowd

Manhood likes to talk about food and football.  I work with men who talk about these two topics on an almost daily basis.  Both are masculine and are there to be enjoyed although I certainly think our culture carries both a little overboard at times.  A favorite pastime for my friends and family involves getting together on Saturday to watch the big game. Of course, I have a hard time watching football without something to eat. Here is a list of my top 5 food items for a gameday gathering Continue Reading…
