This past summer marked the 10 year anniversary of my short, but eventful “career” at Waffle House. First, I find it funny that places like Waffle House and McDonald’s use the word “career” on their job applications, knowing that the percentage of “career” employees they get is about the same as interest rates on a savings account at your local bank. Career and Waffle House typically do not go together unless you are in management because there is no denying that Waffle House does make someone money.
Ten years ago, I think I was pulling home $7.50 per hour at the “Awful Waffle” which will the “progression” of the economy would be equal to about $7.49 today. Continue Reading…
